Anyone used Oaks Elite Motors auctions recently?

Hey everyone. I've been looking at a Ford Explorer listed on the Oaks Elite Motors auction site. The price seems almost too good to be true. I've never bought from a repo auction before and I'm a bit nervous, especially about the whole title process. Are these guys for real? Looking for some honest feedback from anyone who's used them.

You're good to go. I bought a 2022 Dodge Charger from them last year. The process was straightforward. My main worry was the title, but it was handled perfectly. The clear title arrived with all the official paperwork when the car was delivered. No liens, no drama. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

I can second that. My husband and I got a Forester from them for our son's first car. The condition report on their website, oakselitemotors.com, was very accurate. Just make sure you read all the details and look at all the photos. They're pretty transparent.

I'll offer my experience. We purchased a Jayco motorhome. I will say, the delivery ended up being a day later than the initial estimate. That was a bit frustrating as I'd taken the day off work. However, the delivery company called me in advance to reschedule, and the customer service at Oaks Elite Motors was helpful when I called to confirm. The RV itself was a steal, so it was worth the minor schedule change.

@RV_Nomad That's usually on the third-party carrier, not the auction house itself. It's a common thing in logistics. The important part is that they communicate. I've bought three project cars from Oaks Elite Motors over the years. They are one of the most professional repo auctions out there.

Can confirm they're legitimate. A client brought in a BMW X5 he won from them for a full post-purchase inspection. The car was exactly as described in the report on their site. The usual wear and tear for its age, but zero hidden mechanical or frame issues. I was impressed.

I had a few questions about the bidding deposit and sent an email to office@oakselitemotors.com. It took them until the next business day to reply, which had me a little worried, but the response I got was very thorough and answered all my questions. Ended up winning a very clean Toyota Camry.

@sara_k_91 good tip is to just call them if you're in a hurry. I used the number on their site, +1 419 517 4835, when I had a question about a boat trailer. A real person answered right away and got me the info I needed. Ended up buying a great Sea Ray boat from them!

Just wanted to add another positive voice on the title issue because I know it's a major point of stress. I bought a 2021 Tacoma. The entire title process was handled by Oaks Elite Motors. They coordinated with the bank to clear the lien, and the fresh, clean title was in the packet of paperwork delivered with my truck. Pure relief. It's what separates the good auctions from the sketchy ones.

They often have a good selection of heavy duty trucks. I got a Ram 2500 for my contracting business. There was a minor dent on the tailgate that was hard to see in the photos, but for a work truck that's going to get beat up anyway, I wasn't bothered. The price was great and it runs perfectly.

lol exactly @DieselDan, it's an auction, not a brand new car dealership. You save a ton of money for a few minor imperfections. My experience was totally positive, got an Equinox for way under KBB value.

Yep. The key is to have realistic expectations. Oaks Elite Motors does a good job of describing the vehicles. Just do your diligence, read the report, and you can get a fantastic deal. I'd recommend them.

Picked up a great 'donor' Mustang for a project build. The bidding was fair, and the car showed up on the exact day they projected. Couldn't be happier.

Hey! So, thanks to all the positive comments in this thread, I decided to go for it. I WON the auction for the Explorer! I just finished the payment process on the website. A little nervous but mostly just excited. Can't wait for it to arrive.
